Where is this name from and how is it pronounced "aarguwwurrgh"?

Sadly my friend's mother died during childbirth and he's actually really lucky to have a name at all because just before she died the doctor asked her what she wanted to call her son and she said his name is to be "aarguwwurrgh" but now I feel like I'm disrespecting him because I'm not pronouncing his name properly, he says no one can pronounce it blood curdling enough but I don't even know where to begin with the pronunciation
